The Turin Giants Name Former Italian National Team Head Coach Spalletti

Juventus have named previous Italian national team head coach Spalletti to take the helm until the end of the season.

Spalletti takes over from his predecessor, who was dismissed post the Lazio setback last weekend.

Tudor arrived at the club in March filling the shoes of Thiago Motta but departed after seven months after an eight-game winless streak.

Under Spalletti, Napoli clinched the Serie A championship in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, after the team's failure to reach the 2022 World Cup during Roberto Mancini's tenure.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 where they were knocked out in the last 16 by Switzerland.

Nonetheless, Italy dismissed Spalletti in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and lifted the Russian league trophy twice while at Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla served as interim manager for Juventus in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese placing them seventh in the Serie A standings - trailing leaders Napoli by six points after nine matches.

Their Champions League campaign sees them in 25th place in the group stage, after recording one defeat and two ties in the initial three fixtures.
